What membership options do you offer?

Loiter offers three membership tiers: Loiter Free (free, including access to email-gated posts unlocked by sign-up and our free twice-monthly newsletter), Loiter Subscriber (available on monthly or yearly billing, and including unlimited access to all published posts, full commenting privileges, and our newsletter plus Editor’s Desk Notes), and Loiter Supporter (available on monthly or yearly billing, and including all Subscriber benefits, plus the bi-annual [published twice per year] print magazine with a signed note from the editor, optional name listing in Loiter print, and closer access to Loiter through opportunities to submit questions for interviews and features, and to pitch ideas that may help shape the direction of the magazine).

How can I set up a new subscription?

Visit loiter.au and select Subscribe from the main menu. You’ll see the full list of plans with details on what each includes, as well as the choice between monthly and annual payments. Once you’ve chosen, follow the on-screen steps to complete your sign-up.

How does billing work for paid members?

Your membership renews automatically at the interval you choose, either monthly or annually, until you cancel. If you cancel part way through a paid period, you’ll still have your benefits until that period ends.

Can I change from monthly to annual, or the other way round?

Yes. If you move from monthly to annual, the new yearly term starts immediately and any time remaining in your current month is not carried forward. If you switch from annual to monthly, your annual access will remain until it expires, after which you’ll begin monthly billing.

How do I log in?

Go to loiter.au and click Sign In. Enter the email address linked to your membership and press Continue. We’ll send you a single-use “magic link” by email. Click it to sign in. Once logged in, most browsers will keep you signed in for weeks or even months unless you log out manually.

Do I need a password or username?

No. We use email-based login links for security, so there’s no password to remember and no username to create. This also means we don’t store any password data.

How can I stop receiving the free newsletter?

At the bottom of any Loiter newsletter, you’ll find an Unsubscribe link: clicking this will remove you from the list. You can also log in, go to Account, choose Manage under email settings, and select Unsubscribe from all emails.

How do I cancel a paid membership?

Log in, go to Account, select Change next to your current plan, and scroll to the cancellation option. Follow the prompts to confirm. You’ll retain paid-tier access until the end of your current billing cycle. Remember: stopping emails does not cancel your paid subscription, and cancelling your paid subscription does not automatically remove you from the free newsletter.

Will I still have access if I cancel early?

Yes. Cancelling simply prevents your membership from renewing; your current access continues until the paid-for period finishes.

Does my subscription renew automatically?

It does. Monthly plans renew every month, annual plans every year, at the current standard rate. Annual members receive an email reminder roughly one week before renewal.

Can I give someone a Loiter membership as a present?

Yes. We offer gift subscriptions. Please contact us: support@loiter.au and we can help you set this up.

I’m a free subscriber but I’m not getting emails, what should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. Adding @loiter.au to your safe senders or contacts list can also help. If you’re still not receiving anything, get in touch with us directly.

I’ve forgotten which email I used to sign up, how can I find out?

Check any newsletters you’ve received from Loiter. The address they were sent to is the one linked to your account. If that doesn’t help, contact us at support@loiter.au and we can check our records.

How can I discuss advertising or partnership opportunities?

For advertising, sponsorship, or other commercial enquiries, please email editor@loiter.au. Note: our coverage is independent and advertisers do not influence what we publish.
