Before my set at Big Pineapple Festival, the stage is almost empty. Maybe 20 or 30 people stand around in the afternoon heat – family, friends, a few industry people. Then the music starts.

Halfway through the first song, people start running down the hill toward the stage. From where I stand, it looks like a wave breaking loose. More and more people keep coming until the whole place fills out. I remember looking over at my best mate Gallus during the set thinking, ‘This is actually happening.’
